After eighteen months of producing an article a week based on Leaf’s wordplay writings WAYS WITH WORDS (WWW), I’m now ready to move onto the next stage. It was his dream to publish in book form. With around fifty articles, not only humorous but informative and with reader challenges in many cases, I’m optimistic (scroll down on the site to see the archive). When I suggested the idea to my contact at The Literary Consultancy (they provide a variety of useful services to writers), she was encouraging. Now I have the somewhat lengthy task of converting the articles to the correct format to be able to offer to an agent and/or possible publishers.

I’m gratified to have reached this stage notwithstanding the amount of work that’s been required – Leaf’s notes were fairly basic and the challenge of producing a carefully constructed and presented post each week has been good for my morale. Now I’ve moved onto another project.
PATCHWORKING is the renaissance of a course I devised back in the nineties. I was at the beginning stages of trying it out when Leaf came into my life and whisked me off to Africa! I’m now putting together my erstwhile course work with the idea of publishing as a book. The working title is ‘PURE POTENTIAL – A Beginner’s Guide to Creative Living’, a subject that has always been close to my heart. A creative outlet is very important for all of us, particularly in the stress-filled world of today. There are so many ways we can exercise our creative muscles. As with WWW, I’m initially posting on Substack to get some reaction. I’m not looking for a large readership but trial-running!

The first ten posts are preparatory warm-ups to get future participants ready to experiment with practical creative techniques. The posts can stand on their own as well. They’re published on the same Substack site as WWW, as continuations. In the archives the first of them is ‘Unique and Precious Gifts – Accessing Happy Memories’. So far I’ve introduced such subjects as Mental Detoxing, Fully Appreciating our Senses, Dreams and Aspirations, Vibrations of Beauty, Inspiration, Routine and Ritual, Community Spirit, Imagination and Synchronicity. I hope you’ll be intrigued and have a look. None of them is longer than a 10-minute read.
If you like them and want to continue following, then simply subscribe giving your email address – that’s all. You will receive each post as I publish.

Thanks for reading this update. I look forward to passing on positive news in the future!
