A non week, a flat week, a finally getting around to sorting odd socks week. I’m banned again from visiting Leaf. For how long, they don’t know. I ring him most days but apart from his initial greeting ‘Hello sweetheart’, he’s unable to carry out anything resembling a conversation, usually forgets I’m on the end of the line, puts the phone down and walks away leaving me rabbiting to no-one. Poor man, it’s probably because they present him with a cordless phone which he won’t understand how to use. It’s all pretty depressing.

What’s the latest?
A new person in the unit tested positive. ‘Oh dear, do they have symptoms?’ I asked the person calling to cancel my visit. ‘No.’ ‘Is my husband okay?’ ‘He’s fine. He’s had Covid.’ ‘Merci,’ I said wearily and rang off. What was the point of bringing up what I was told back in November, when all the patients had previously tested positive? ‘He has no symptoms.’
No, I’m not tearing my hair out, what’s the use? These people are hard-wired to follow orders . They have to. They could lose their jobs if caught suggesting to a family member that anything other than the official narrative could be the case. And no doubt, like so many health workers, they’ve signed NDAs. Leaf has had symptomless Covid and is now immune! Really?
I, and many of my like-minded friends are becoming numbed by the sheer idiocy of the constant changing of Covid goal posts, the latest being the new strains blamed on God knows which country. And now there are apparently 1,200 mutations! Viruses, god bless ‘em, have a habit of mutating.

But to get to the nitty-gritty for Leaf and I. I wrote last week to the gerontologist to ask how long he would have to wait to have the intervention to resolve his bladder problem. I asked her to thank Manou, the intern, for his wonderful support and taking the time to talk to me. I also said, very simply, that should there be a vaccination programme for the unit, to please note that Leaf would not want to take part. He and I had discussed this on and off over last year when he was still able to communicate and understand important issues. He was adamant. My position as his guardian is to respect that.
I received a reply from the gerontologist saying she had no idea when Leaf’s procedure can take place and he has had to be put back on the catheter. Terrific! She then informed me that they would be vaccinating the patients in the unit. I wonder why if most of them have already had it and are now immune. Lunacy or what? Anyway, she said she’d noted that I, on Leaf’s behalf, would be refusing.
That sounds fine, or does it? There are lots of nurses in the unit and presumably any one of them could administer the jab. They would have to be told individually not to give it to Leaf. I don’t have confidence that refusal would definitely be respected. As dementia sufferers obviously wouldn’t be able to provide informed consent themselves, I would be surprised if the hospital will be giving out detailed information sheets and forms to their families.

This coming week, I shall be sending a formal refusal document to the gerontologist setting out our objections and accompanied by relevant back-up information. After all, as I shall point out, France likes everything to be neatly documented!
There is every likelihood that there will be readers who will not understand why we don’t want to take part in any vaccination programmes. As I am not qualified to explain in correct terminology the reasons, I am ‘passing the buck’. (see the links at the end of this post)
I have said before that I believe each and every one of us should do our OWN research, particularly with regard to such important issues as bodily autonomy. To reach an informed opinion, we need to be (fully) informed. There are masses of doctors, virologists, scientists and health workers who have produced videos, taken part in interviews and round-tables online setting out the pros and cons. So, for those who feel they are not getting enough information from the mainstream media, below are some links to check out.

If you feel you know enough and don’t need to research further before taking the vaccine or not, that’s great. I am responsible for another human being. My moral choice is clear.
INFORMATION IS POWER, POWER TO MAKE INFORMED CHOICES.
WHY IS THERE A CORRELATION …..
hello Sue, I have recently found your blog and have been reading your interesting articles, Ihave lots to catch up with. My mother has Alzheimers and is in a home. Like you I’m not allowed to visit her. I am desperate with worry and when I try to find out if they have vaccinated her, nobody will give me a straight answer. I don’t know what to do. I am so afraid she will die. Have you got any advice for me. Thank you.

Dear Andrea, thank you for getting in touch – I hope you will find helpful info in DOODAH. I can entirely empathise with you. It is horrible not knowing what a loved one is going through when they are locked away. We feel so impotent.
You don’t say where you live, but i would think your best bet is to make an appointment to go and see the supervisor. Go armed with information. The Docs4 document linked at the bottom of the post could be useful.
If your mother has not been vaccinated and you have enduring power of attorney, you could ask for a vaccine consent form and x out consent replacing it with refusal and initialed or put ‘do not’ in front of consent. (I’m assuming you don’t want her to get the vaccine!) If there isn’t a consent form, there should be, you can present them with a pre-prepared letter in duplicate saying you, as you mother’s legal guardian, do not consent to her receiving the ‘experimental’ injection (use those words not vaccine) as is your right under the Nuremberg Code. Make sure you keep a signed copy for yourself.
At the bottom of your letter, include the words I……….. (name of the supervisor) understand and accept your refusal. Date ….. Signature ……………………..
If your mother has already received the first vaccine, this letter should prevent her receiving the second.
I wish you much luck and will be x-ing fingers that she has not been vaccinated. Blessings.

As you know, I am on your distribution list because I am interested in Leaf and his unfortunate illness. You might want to cancel my access to your blog because of my opinions, in which case I accept it, but I have to say the following: I notice that none of the links you provide come from publications such as “Nature” or “Science”. Presumably these are also considered “Mainstream media” and therefore, despite announcing thier articles as peer reviewed, only publish false information in order to convince everyone who is foolish enough to accept vaccination against a virus in which those scientists believe, but of course is really only an influenza virus. I haven’t been able to find any articles in these publications about the deaths caused by any of the current Covid-19 vaccines.

Hello Max, I thought I’d replied to you but find it didn’t get published. Many apologies, you must think me most rude. I would have spotted this earlier had my computer not packed up three weeks ago. I’ve had to get a new one and have all the info transferred over and am now returning to DOODAH.
I wouldn’t dream of cancelling your access – I believe in free speech. But I have to say, as do so many who are accused of spreading misinformation, that we are fed up with the sneering and accusations of being gullible and naive and, the latest buzzword ‘conspiracy theorists’. We are only suggesting that people to do their own research of both points of view. Sadly, we’re getting to the stage when we don’t care. What others choose to do is up to them. We all have the right to choose our own path and hopefully the responsibility to take the consequences, whatever they may be. It is noteworthy that we don’t take it on ourselves to call others disrespectful names even if we think they warrant them.
As for ‘Nature’ and ‘Science’, I have no idea how they operate, who owns them, who finances them and what their particular policies may be. There are so many publications and we must choose those we feel have integrity. A rare commodity these days in my view.
However, here is a piece that seems relevant:

And these figures have just plopped into my inbox:

Well made point. There is a lot of misinformation out there sadly. We have to make a balanced judgement but not get sucked into conspiracy theories.
Sadly the articles are by conspiracy theorists and therefore have no credibility. These people could try switching the news on! by now everyone must know someone affected by Covid.

Hello Lizziekins, Not sure which point is well made, but glad it is!
As for misinformation, I think the Brit Gov and the mainstream media in the UK excel in misinformation. All that daily press release material with stock photos and mind-changing to suit the latest twist and turn, the last place I would recommend to get the news is the MSM.
Within the next few months some world-changing news is on its way and those who are wrongly-accused of ‘conspiracy theories’ (thanks CIA for that one) will have to control themselves! No saying, I told you so!!
Ref. your assumption that everyone must know someone affected by Covid, actually all those I’ve asked don’t know of anyone who’s had to be hospitalised or supposedly died of it, me included. However, I do know of two people who have been badly affected by the vaccine. The older of the two was in intensive care for three days (he’d been in good health beforehand) he’s okay now, and the other had to take a week off work due to horrible rashes, nausea and no energy whatsoever. She’s still not right but couldn’t afford not to work. Incidentally, I do know three people who died of seasonal flu in 2018 and 2019. The official flu figures for 2019 in the UK were around 17,000 – the last figure I could find for flu in 2020 was 379. This article is interesting, albeit American:

Anyway …
Here’s to a far better world with freedom, fairness and the restoration of human dignity and the acceptance that there are nasties out there. We have our immune systems to help us, we need to look after them very carefully. Fear depletes them as does stress. Not news to you, I know, but reminders to others are no bad thing.
Roll on the day …

Slightly confused with your reply as at one stage you said that Leaf had Covid and that you could not visit the hospital due to a Covid outbreak. So pleased the operation went well nevertheless and he can feel more comfortable despite everything else.

Hi, It was confusing to me tool. They tested the ward and closed it down because everyone tested positive – they couldn’t tell me at how many cycles because they didn’t know what I was talking about. They should, they’re healthcare workers. However, Leaf had no symptoms but they still said he had it! Actually I think they are confused.
From what I can understand, they close the ward whenever anyone tests positive. They allowed me to see him before the op. but said I had to have a test first.
I have no idea what the situation actually is but patients die in the dementia ward on a regular basis! These days it seems to be assumed it’s down to Covid. Not reassuring.
Last night, when we spoke on the phone, he said he’s peeing okay but I’m not convinced he really knew what I was asking. xx
